Patara
Beach
Patara
is simply wonderful, totally unspoilt pure white sand stretches into
the distance. Infact you have 22km to find yourself a spot, the turquoise
waters and the cooling breeze make it idyllic. Don't forget the sun
tan lotion as it can be quite deceptive.
Patara is reached via narrow winding road; ancient ruins guard its entrance,
impressive stone arches and a second century theatre, giving clues to
Patara's past as an important Lycian port. This is the birth place of
Apollo according to Greek mythology and also St. Nicholas.
Please note that there are no restaurants, bars or facilities here,
this is a conservation area and no development is allowed
.. Just
enjoy the sea, sun and this terrific beach, one of the best Turkey has
to offer..
